Norwich Wine Festival Events 2011

For the duration of the festival wine events and tastings are being held at some of the festival venues around Norwich. The events are listed below – but ticket numbers on the wine events are limited so don’t forget to reserve your place online using the link next to the event listing and completing the reservation form.

You can pay for your ticket on the door (cash or cheque only, please) but
pre-booking is essential. All of these events are open to the general public, so you don’t need to have purchased a festival programme.

Live Music, Wine & Food

Date: Saturday 3rd September 2011, 5pm to 9.30pm

Cross your fingers for sunny weather and come and enjoy an afternoon of live music, fantastic wine and delicious food at The Garden House in Norwich’s Golden Triangle. Grab a glass of something nice, order some food from the Garden House’s brilliant menu and listen to some of Norwich’s finest musical talent. And even if the weather’s not in our favour, The Garden House’s fantastic upstairs area is a great space.

Virgin Wines Fine Wine Tasting

Workshop Wine & Cheese Night SOLD OUT!

Join us at Workshop Café Bar for a relaxed, informal wine and cheese tasting. The cellar at the Workshop is cosy and comfortable, the perfect venue for sipping wine and sampling some delicious cheeses.

Wine Festival Net-Walking

Date: Tuesday 13th September 2011 – 6pm for 6.30pm start
Venue: The Bicycle Shop
Price: £15.00
A different take on business networking in Norwich, come along for a net-walk! This event will be run alongside WIRE – women in rural enterprise, and will be starting at The Bicycle Shop for a glass of something nice, followed by a historical tour of Norwich city centre presented by Gill Blanchard. Net-walking is a great way to meet new faces and catch up with other Norfolk business owners. We will be finishing at The WinePress @ Wensum in The Maids Head Hotel for some light bites and another glass of wine. As a special offer from The WinePress @ Wensum, anyone who comes along to this event receives a 15% off total bill voucher when ordering 3 courses off the Winepress menu. Wine Tasting by Paul Tholen MW for Break Charity

Date: Tuesday 20th September 2011, 6.00pm – 8.00pm
Venue: Fusion at the Forum, Millennium Plain, Norwich
Price: £18.00
Paul Tholen, Master of Wine, will present a horizontal tasting of a white grape and a red grape showing how different climates and soil types can impact upon a wine. This event will be in aid of Break Charity - come and try some fascinating wines and support an excellent cause.

Wine Festival Charity Pub Quiz SOLD OUT!

Help us raise some money for Asthma UK by joining us for our wine festival pub quiz at The Garden House. 50p from each ticket will be donated to Asthma UK, and there will be a raffle to help us raise even more money as well. Teams are a maximum of 10 people – book early as The Garden House’s pub quizzes are always popular.

Coffee at Caistor Wine Evening

Coffee at Caistor is a monthly networking event for business women in Norfolk held at the stunning Caistor Hall Hotel. In celebration of the Norwich Wine Festival we are holding an extra event in addition to our regular meeting, Come along to an evening of scrumptious wine, nibbles and mingling.

The Unthank Arms in Norwich is famous for its comedy nights and annual festival, so we have arranged a special night alongside the Norwich Wine Festival showing off three of Norwich’s finest comedians. Wine & Cheese with Hallgarten Druitt

Date: Thursday 8th September 2011, 6.30pm – 8.30pm
Venue: WinePress @ Wensum in the Maids Head Hotel

A wine and cheese night with Hallgarten Druitt, European wine merchants of the year Graham Philpott will be presenting on the night. Book in advance on 01603-272010 at £7.50 per person or £10.00 on the door. Arrival at 18.30 finish at 20.30. Arrive to a sparkling refreshment, followed by a brief introduction to the wines being offered on the night and chef will discuss the British cheese selection, then mingle with friends and try the wines and cheeses on offer.

Wines Of South-West France at The Iron House

The Iron House Brasserie is one of Norwich’s most exciting new venues serving fantastic food and drink all day. This event focuses on food and wine from south-west France, in particular the Gers & Perigord regions. Come along for a fun and informative evening, coupled with delicious food and wine. Californian Wine Tasting

A Californian wine tasting evening with canapés. Book in advance on 01603-272010 at £7.50 per person or £10.00 on the door - arrive at 18.30, finish at 20.30. This is a unique opportunity to meet James Hocking, the wine director for the Vineyard Cellars which stocks over 20 thousand different wines from around the world. A selection of Californian wines will be available to buy at retail prices at the end of the evening.

A Wine Tour of Europe’s Greatest Vineyards – Accompanied by a Norfolk Menu

Venue: Delia's, Top of the City at Norwich City Football Club

Enjoy delicious wines, which are all carefully matched to a specially designed Norfolk menu. Join Norfolk's well-known wine expert and bon-viveur Graham Donaldson as he takes us on a tour of some of the most famous vineyards in Europe. Graham has chosen his personal favourites and introduces them along with a four-course menu to celebrate Norfolk produce that has been specially designed by our team of Chef’s.
